IG Lamba arrived at the Udaipur hospital along with SP Vikas Sharma and said that the police had gone to Mandwa where a robbery case was reported. The police had received information that the defendants had taken refuge in the houses built on the mountain slopes of the area.

However, the relatives of the defendants surrounded the policemen from all sides and tried to seize their weapons, including a rifle and a pistol. The defendant managed to escape from the police while the villagers attacked the police.

They attacked the police team with knives and batons, and the accused opened fire on the authorities, wounding seven officers. The injured policemen are receiving treatment at the hospital and their condition is being closely monitored.

The authorities have called for calm and urged the villagers to cooperate with the police to maintain peace in the area.
