There is so much variety when it comes to legitimate jobs online. Regardless of your prior work experience or current skill set, there is likely a work-at-home job out there for you. And probably a few you’d like to aspire to too!

Today, I am providing a list of some of the great opportunities out there. This is not an exhaustive list, but it will give you a good overview and a starting point to help you find a remote job.

Appen is a data collection company that hires home workers to perform tasks online to make online services “smarter.” Tasks in Appen are varied and include evaluation of search engines and social networks. The work is flexible and can be done from anywhere in the world with a computer and the Internet!

BELAY places virtual assistants, web specialists and bookkeepers with clients who want to work with them. The work is 100% remote and offers full-time and part-time jobs. BELAY offers all employees training and mentoring throughout their career. A bachelor’s degree is not required, but is highly preferred. Concentrix hires call representatives to work from home as employees, not independent contractors. They hire both part-time and full-time employees, a fixed schedule is agreed upon once the employees are hired. Wages start at $10 per hour and payment is made twice a month via direct deposit at your bank.

Dotdash is a large and fast-growing publisher that offers writing jobs for creative employees. Dotdash occasionally hired freelance writers to work from home. Writers must have strong research skills, the ability to write on a variety of topics, and the ability to meet deadlines. Applicants with 1-3 years of experience developing and curating digital content are preferred. Typically in this position you will work 20-30 hour weeks with flexible hours.

Enterprise offers remote jobs for US citizens as call center employees. Reservation sales representatives help book reservations and provide excellent customer service. GitHub is an open source code hosting website and social networking site for a programmer and is currently hiring for a wide variety of remote jobs. If you’re an experienced writer, Github is currently hiring a copywriter to develop copy for a wide range of branding and marketing needs. If you love working and interacting with people, Github is also hiring support engineers to help customers. Salary is competitive and varies by job. Depending on the position, Github can bring you benefits such as new computer equipment.

Hilton has work-from-home opportunities as a reservations and customer service specialist. Employees will assist customers over the phone with reservations and other needs. Base salary for this position is $11.00 per hour with opportunities for bonuses. Employees must have a computer with high-speed wired Internet (no Wi-Fi allowed) and a quiet home office.

Intuit is hiring experienced CPAs as local tax advisors. Employees will assist customers who need assistance filing their taxes using TurboTax via phone, live chat, and email. Applicants must be certified accountants and have at least 5 years of experience preparing tax returns.

JetBlue hires home-based reservations agents with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Once hired, employees must be able to train in Salt Lake City, but then work can return to a home office. Applicants must have two years of customer service experience, a flexible work schedule that includes nights and weekends, a landline phone, and high-speed Internet.

K12 is hiring passionate teachers in the US to work from home. A variety of teaching and educational support jobs are offered. Applicants must have a teaching certificate for the state in which they are applying, as well as 3 or more years of teaching experience. Quicktate/iDictate opportunities involve the transcription of a wide variety of audio files. With work ranging from voicemail messages to legal and medical files, integrity and professionalism are of the utmost importance. This company is looking for experienced transcriptionists with clean records, no felony or misdemeanor convictions.

Rev.com is open to aspiring transcriptionists with no experience. Due to its openness to beginners, the pay is on the lower end of the scale. However, it’s a flexible job that can give you some experience to put on your resume and help you move up to higher-paying positions.

SYKES hires remote call center representatives from many US states and Canadian provinces. You will need a Windows-based computer, high-speed Internet, and USB headsets for this position.

Toptal is a growing tech startup that hires for a variety of positions, including non-tech jobs. The work is completely remote and you can take your work anywhere in the world. A quiet office space, computer, wireless internet, and headphones are required for this position. Pay varies by job.

U-Haul employs full-time remote workers as customer service representatives. In this role, you will answer questions and schedule customer reservations. Your computer must have minimum specifications. Previous call center experience is preferred. Depending on the position, you may be eligible for a 401(k), medical reimbursement indemnity plan, and more.

VIPKID helps children in China to speak English more fluently. To accomplish this, they hire online tutors here in the US. To qualify, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in any subject. Many of my readers enjoy working with this company as they offer flexible hours, morning hours, and good pay.

Yardi Matrix employees temporary home employees. Unlike most in-home phone-based workstations, Yardi Matrix doesn’t require a quiet workspace! In this role, you will call various rental properties to gather information so Yardi Matrix can ensure your information is accurate. The work is temporary and seasonal, but during work time they expect you to work 10 hours per week. Employees must have access to high-speed Internet and a phone line.

Zirtual is currently hiring remote virtual assistants to perform tasks for different clients. As a Zirtual contractor, your primary tasks will be to help with scheduling, research, and reservations. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and previous administrative experience is preferred. The work is flexible and can be done entirely from home.
