Here’s Everything Announced At Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase

from nintendo independent world showcase aired last night, showcasing over a dozen interesting indie titles coming to Nintendo Switch during 2023. The name is in the name when it comes to what was shown; independent titles.

So if you’re looking for a bit of hope that Hollow Knight: Silksong is happening this summer, sadly I have to tell you, no, it didn’t show up at the showcase. That being said, many other games shown can help you until finally, one day, we get an update on Silksong.

Check out the Mineko Night Market, featured at the Indie World Showcase, right here.

You can check out the Indie World Showcase on Nintendo’s website, but for those who’d rather read a summary, I’ve got you covered.

My time in Sandrock

An adventure RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world (the same world as My Time At Portia), My Time At Sandrock is finally being ported to the Nintendo Switch. You take on the role of a farmer and general repairman within a charming community, and you can dive into Switch during the summer of this year.

Quilts and Calico Cats

You can’t go too wrong with a game about cats and cozy blankets. Quilts and Cats of Calico is an adaptation of the Calico board game, which tasks you with putting together your own quilt. You can also hang out with adorable cats and you can play this game in single or multiplayer when it launches on Switch this fall.

blasphemous 2

The showcase gave us a closer look and a more concrete release period for Blasphemous 2. The game is coming to Switch sometime in the summer of 2023, thrusting us back into the never-ending cycle of life, death, and resurrection. It features a gorgeous pixel art style and plenty of terrifying enemies.

Cult of the Lamb DLC

Amidst all the game announcements, Indie World Showcase also took a moment to announce that one of the best indie games of 2022, Cult of the Lamb, is getting some brilliant DLC. The Relics of the Old Faith DLC arrives on April 24 with a new post-game story, deeper combat, revamped enemies, and more.

Mineko Night Market

The Mineko Night Market seems to be very capricious. A narrative-driven social adventure celebrating Japanese culture, this is another indie title with a lot of cats. What more can you need? Playing as Mineko, you embark on an adventure to unravel a moving tale of friendship, lore, and intrigue. The game will come to Switch during 2023.

Rift of the NecroDancer

Rift of the NecroDancer is a rhythm game spin-off of Crypt of the NecroDancer, headed to Switch during 2023. The trailer shows off some sick riffing, but also some yoga and burgers. I’m interested to see how this one turns out!

Cyberfunk Bomb Fever

Coming to Switch in summer 2023, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will bring you all kinds of fun in New Amsterdam. You can dance, paint graffiti, perform various tricks and even fight with the police if you feel like it.

shadows over disgust

Shadows Over Loathing seems like a silly game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The black and white RPG is made up of stick figure characters and silly doodles, and is a sequel to West of Loathing. You’ll be solving the mystery of your missing uncle in this one, but it seems like there’s a lot more to it than that. You can now download it on Nintendo Switch!

time of crime

Coming to Switch on June 30, Crime O’ Clock will let you prevent and solve crimes in a unique context. A black and white mystery game, you have 40 cases to solve; What’s better, your decisions in one case may have a knock-on effect in another. Good luck, time detective!

Little kitty, big city

Yes, there is another cat game on this list. Little Kitty, Big City is what it sounds like; You are a little cat trying to get home, while you explore what this great city has to offer. Allow yourself to be distracted like a curious kitten while trying to get back home.

Oxenfree II: Missed Signals

You can now pre-order Oxenfree II: Lost Signals on Switch for a discounted price, and it will launch on July 12. Oxenfree II takes place five years after the original game, with Riley returning to his hometown to investigate some strange goings-on. As always, she’s bound for more than she bargained for with this trip home.

Escape Academy: Complete Edition

Escape Academy is how to get your escape room fix on the Nintendo Switch. You will be required to solve puzzles, master lockouts, hack servers and meet the people around you. The Complete Edition of the game also includes the Anti-Escape Island DLC, where you try to escape from an island that really doesn’t want you to leave. Escape Academy: Complete Edition launches in Fall 2023 for Nintendo Switch.
