Cincinnati police reported that a tragic shooting in Winton Hills resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy. The shooting happened early in the morning, around 2 a.m., Tuesday on Strand Lane in the 600 block.

The victim, identified as Brandon Burton, was discovered by police with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

According to eyewitnesses, a large crowd had gathered at the scene of the incident and several people were detained handcuffed. The exact involvement of these individuals in the shooting has yet to be determined.

The Cincinnati Police Department is treating the case as a homicide and has asked anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact its Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.
