IAF helicopters rescued 13 army members from a mountainous area in north Sikkim on Wednesday after they were injured in a traffic accident.

The IAF deployed the helicopters to rescue the army personnel after receiving information about the accident, authorities said.

In a tweet, the IAF said the Army personnel were rescued from the area which is at an altitude of 14,000 feet.

“On 19 April 23, amid the harsh terrain and inclement weather of North Sikkim, IAF helicopters successfully rescued 13 army members injured in a traffic accident from an altitude of 14,000 feet,” said.
