By India Today News Desk: Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led faction leader Priyanka Chaturvedi pointed guns at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on their visit to the temple city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. In a veiled mockery of Shinde and Fadnavis, Chaturvedi, who is a Rajya Sabha MP, said the duo should have paid tribute as “devotees” and not “political tourists”.

In a tweet, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said it was “painful” to see them visit Ayodhya and also referred to them as “traitors”.

“Those who visit Ayodhya for Ram Lalla darshan should do so as devotees and not as political tourists. It is painful to see the holy place being used to try and construct their non-existent narrative. By the way, the only narrative that fits perfectly with them is that of the traitors, nothing more,” wrote Priyanka Chaturvedi.

SHINDE, FADNAVIS IN AYODHYA

Amid chants of “Jai Shree Ram” and among thousands of Shiv Sainiks, CM Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis toured and offered obeisances in Ayodhya on Sunday. They offered prayers at the Ram Mandir construction site and praised the prime minister for achieving the goal of establishing a temple after years of legal disputes.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’ come true in the country by bringing the ideals of Lord Ram into his life,” he said. He also said that UP CM Yogi Adityanath has revived the “pride of our faith” and added that under his leadership, “Lord Ram’s city is touching new dimensions of development.”

This was Shinde’s first visit to the temple city since he was inducted as Maharashtra’s prime minister last year. Addressing a meeting later, Shinde later said that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray wanted to see a large Ram temple in Ayodhya.
