Pokemon Fans Crushed That Team Rocket Disbands At The End Of The Anime

Jessie, James, and Meowth are reunited with their old Pokémon.

The last Pokémon Journeys: The Series The episode just aired in Japan this Friday and has fans in a panic. The anime is in its final season, and fans were hoping that the most recent episode would successfully wrap up Team Rocket’s story, but it was the complete opposite. Even Team Rocket haters feel that the villainous team deserved better.

Spoiler warning.

After 25 years, Ash and Pikachu’s journey finally comes to an end. This is the last season with the infamous duo, and they recently finally became champions after beating Galar champion Leon. they have parted forever. The sudden decision came as a huge shock to fans who had watched the trio come together for over 1,000 episodes. But it happened.

In it ninth episode from the Aim To Be A Pokémon Master final arc, the villainous trio Team Rocket reunites with their old Pokémon from previous seasons. They decide to do their best to capture Pikachu, which they haven’t done since their first appearance in 1997. They put up a decent fight. but unfortunately, his opponent was the literal Pokemon champion of the world.

Look, I know they should have set their sights lower. Pikachu isn’t even as good as Pokemon. But you have to give Team Rocket some credit for being the most persistent characters in the entire series. They held onto their goal for over a thousand episodes. If anyone deserved to steal Pikachu, it was this trio. Unfortunately, they fail even with the combined powers of their former partners. The legendary Pokémon Latias intervenes and they are sent “blasting off” elsewhere. The three argue and decide to finish off the team.

The fans are not excited about it. Although Jessie, James, and Meowth are the villains of the anime, their popularity helped make it so successful. This is the supposed end [Team Rocket] episode,” wrote a fan “It’s like a band disbands in the middle of a concert and on bad terms out of the blue.” If Team Rocket had broken up in the middle of a long season, then fans might hope they could get back together. But with the plot centering around the legendary Pokemon Latias and Team Rocket’s latest mission ending in catastrophic failure, it might be too much to ask for a reunion with just two episodes left. Still, the fans are coping hard about whether or not the three will reconcile by the end of the series.

Others are not optimistic, but feel that Team Rocket deserves better after his years of service. Over the course of several years, it was apparent that the three of them were like a weird family. They each came from complicated backgrounds, but they found a common goal in kidnapping Pikachu, so many fans felt their bond extended beyond their Team Rocket membership. “Didn’t Team Rocket just break up as a group, they left all of their Pokémon behind?” exclaimed a fan “Is that so fucked up?”

The last episodes of Aim To Be A Pokémon Master will air in Japan on March 17 and 24 respectively.
