Are you interested in becoming a work at home? write doctor? I have found five companies looking to hire right now, and some of them are entry level positions!

In this post, I’ve listed the company that hires scribes, the experience you need, how much they pay (if I was able to find that information), and a link for you to apply.

Unfortunately, entry-level medical scribe jobs don’t pay very well, which isn’t surprising. But on the plus side, getting one of these entry-level jobs gives you experience that could lead you to a higher-paying medical scribe job down the road.

What is a medical notary?

I explained in more detail what a medical scribe is in another blog post, but just to summarize, a medical scribe is a person who carefully documents the encounters between doctors and patients. Documentation by a medical scribe typically involves taking notes of the patient’s visit and entering data.

The overall goal is to save the doctor time. Before medical notaries existed, it was generally up to the attending physician to take notes and document the visit.

Many medical scribes work in the office, but work can also be done from home if the physician recorded or dictated information for the medical scribe to enter, the visit was telehealth, or they accompanied the patient’s visit virtually.

5 Companies Hiring Medical Scribes To Work From Home Right Now

1 – Scribe Kick

Scribekick is currently seeking Virtual Medical Scribes in the following US states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, or Virginia.

You must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent to qualify, as well as the ability to work office hours during the day.

As a Scribekick Medical Scribe, you will virtually monitor physician and patient exams and document patient information in the EMR during the patient encounter (history, major complaint, systems review, physical exam).

In addition, you will successfully operate the EMR in real time via audio to document any procedures performed by the doctor as well as patient orders including lab tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

According to Glassdoor, medical scribes make around $11 an hour working online for Scribekick and $16 an hour working in the office.

2 – ProScribe

ProScribe is currently seeking bilingual Spanish Medical Scribes in the following US states: Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

To qualify, you must have at least a high school diploma, although at least a college sophomore is preferred.

At ProScribe, the bilingual Virtual Medical Scribe in Spanish guarantees accurate and timely documentation of the medical chart under the supervision of the medical provider.

The job ad says you will have to work Monday through Friday, 12 hour shifts.

The job description doesn’t include pay, but Glassdoor says it can be around $10 or $11 an hour.

3 – DeepScribe

DeepScribe is currently hiring home-based medical scribes. This is a contractor role with flexible scheduling options.

As a medical scribe, you will produce high-quality, detailed medical notes based on standards established within the medical industry.

At a minimum, you must have a high school diploma. They also require you to work on a Mac computer.

DeepScribe requires you to be available to work at least 15 hours per week (Monday through Friday, NO weekend shifts). Business hours 8a-6p PST/10a-8p CST/ 11a-9p EST.

Pay is listed between $12 and $16 per hour.

4 – MedVoice

MedVoice is looking for Medical Scribes with at least one year of experience to work at home.

As a scribe for Loudon Medical Group, you will document patient encounters for healthcare providers at a variety of subspecialty clinics remotely from your own home and navigate electronic medical records to access past notes, formulate concise patient histories, document physical exams Accurate and capture treatment plans

5 – Type-X

ScribeEMR is currently seeking Medical Scribes to work remotely, full time. This is for the US only.

You can work as a medical scribe for Scribe-X with no prior writing experience. However, you earn more if you already have experience.

ScribeEMR will pay (depending on the job offer) between $11 and $17 per hour.
