If you are someone who would like to become a virtual assistant but are not ready to dive in and start your own businessToday’s post is for you. Ultimately, starting your own VA business gives you greater earning potential because you will be setting your own fees.

However, there is still a lot to be said for “getting your feet wet” in this industry by working with someone else for a while.

This can help you not only understand how a VA business is run, but also learn how to perform some of the more popular tasks that VAs are often used for.

So today, I thought it would be a good idea to create a short list for you of 5 different companies that regularly hire virtual assistants to work at home with no prior industry experience.

Note that this does not mean that you will not need previous experience in something.

Many of the listings will say that they prefer candidates with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google tools, freelance writing, etc. But you may still be considered for the job even if you have never worked in VA for any other company before.

5 virtual assistance companies for beginners

1 – Elegant hands

This is a task-based VA job. Once you are accepted to start work, you can log in at any time and search the Fancy Hand platform for the VA tasks you want to do.

You’ll see all sorts of things, from appointment scheduling to research. Just pick and choose what you want to do, but be quick because other Fancy Hands VAs are also looking for work.

2 – Secure

This is one of the more well-known companies that the VA works for.

They are willing to consider applicants with at least five years of administrative support experience (this does not have to be a virtual assistant job – it could be anything you have ever done that is administration related, whether online or out of line). And while it’s not required, they prefer that you have a bachelor’s degree and at least some experience working remotely.

They are currently unable to accept applicants in California, Montana, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

3 – Time, etc.

This company hires VAs with at least 5 years of work experience. It doesn’t say that this experience has to be in the virtual assistance field, but I’m guessing if you have 5 years of administrative experience, you’ll look good here.

They prefer to hire people with previous experience working from home.

4 – 99 social dollars

I’m not sure how often this company hires, but their job description page doesn’t seem to require you to have any prior experience as a virtual assistant.

They prefer to hire people who are comfortable navigating and updating social media, as what they will be doing is updating and managing social media accounts for their clients.

5 – Persist

This company is regularly looking for work at home “Persistent Assistants” to handle different tasks for their clients.

They do not require you to have done this type of work before, as long as you incorporate certain basic characteristics, including the ability to multitask, easily learn new things, be comfortable navigating a computer, etc.

You should also be comfortable with technology and handle things like Google Docs, Google Calendar, etc.
